For your convenience, we recommend flying into Rome. Please ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your travel date.

The area is easily accessible by car and train from Italy’s major cities. The nearest big city is Grosseto.

TAXIS IN ROCCASTRADA
Booking a taxi without advanced notice is almost impossible in the area. Plan transfers ahead of time and try to book through your hotel for reliability.

DRIVING IN ITALY
Please be aware of the ZTL (Limited Traffic Zone) areas while driving in Italy. Take a moment to familiarize yourself with the signs.
Cars should be hired from the airport or Grossetto centre. Look for hire companies with good ratings, in the airport itself and with fair cancellation windows in case your flight runs late.
TAKING THE TRAIN
Trains run from Rome Fumicino airport to Grosseto with 1 change, taking 2.5 hours. About the same time as driving.
Grosseto is 3.5 hours from Florence centre by train with 1 change.
